Systems Administrator
Position: Systems Administrator
We are seeking a self-driven Systems Administrator to join the Centre for Networked Intelligence (CNI) at the Indian Institute of Science. CNI is an industry-sponsored research centre focused on Systems/Networking research and development.
Location: Indian Institute of Science campus, Bengaluru. This is an on-campus full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Creative use of educational technologies for delivering technical content
- Infrastructure management:
- Maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software systems, including access devices, GPU/CPU clusters, cloud instances, and networking equipment.
- Configure/maintain audio/video streaming setup for outreach events.
- Application management and technical support:
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students for hardware and software issues.
- Maintain CNI website/CMS, email newsletter workflow, and virtual lab environment.
- Collect and report relevant metrics about systems usage and outreach engagement
- Train students and staff on usage of testbeds and software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
- In-depth understanding of Linux/Unix OS and networking concepts
- Knowledge of scripting language and virtualization
- A prior experience in managing multi-user Linux/Unix setup or systems programming projects will be an advantage.

Duration: This is a grant-funded position and is contingent on funding availability. Contracts are typically renewed annually on satisfactory performance.
