Broadly, candidates with research interests in cyber physical systems, IoT, programmable networks, 5G networks, smart cities, data exchanges, networked autonomous vehicles, and theoretical underpinnings of these applications will align well with centre’s research objective. The candidate will get an opportunity to work with other researchers and faculty members at the centre, spanning multiple departments in the Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Sciences (EECS) division.

Job Description: Senior Research EngineerDCNs

We are looking for highly motivated, self-starter individuals to join the data-center network (DCN) project at the Centre for Networked Intelligence (CNI), IISc. This role requires a demonstrated ability to conduct literature survey, experiment design, prototype testbed development, collection and analysis of experimental results, and documentation. 

Location: Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 

About CNI: 

The Centre for Networked Intelligence (cni.iisc.ac.in) is an industry-sponsored research centre, housed in the ECE Department of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, focused on developing next generation networking methodologies that can drive the deployment and management of networks
of the future, particularly those that will support networked applications such as the Industrial Internet, networked robotics, and other such Cyber Physical Systems. 

Requirements: 

  • A solid foundation in network architecture/protocols and programming practices 
  • Effective communication skills and ability to prepare research reports/proposals 
  • Experience with network simulation/emulation tools and performance analysis is desirable 
  • Experience on network/systems programming is desirable 
  • Familiarity with SDN/NFV and virtualization is desirable 
  • Exposure to enterprise/data-center networking will be an advantage. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelorsmaster’s, or Ph.D. in Electronics and Communications, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, or related disciplines
  • Minimum number of years of relevant experience: Bachelors+7/Masters+5/PhD+1 
  • Fresh PhDs can be considered if there is significant overlap of PhD research with job requirements
