Aging Brain research involves understanding the mechanisms of healthy and diseased aging in order to design appropriate interventions. The talk will present the issues related to cognitive decline and the current understanding about dementia. The challenges involved in assessing the status of cognitive decline will be highlighted. The motivation for collecting multimodal data that includes MRI, OCT, Gait, etc. will be presented. The use of proteomics and genomics coupled with digital data presents a huge opportunity to develop sophisticated data analysis tools to build a composite biomarker for early detection of the onset of the disease. These predictive tools would enable designing appropriate intervention mechanisms to halt or delay the progress of the disease.
